Virender Sehwag aka “Multan Ka Sultan” and “Nawab of Najafgarh” is the first player to hit 2 triple centuries in the toughest form of cricket for India.
On 29th March 2004, he thrashed Pakistan’s bowling unit all around the park of Multan Cricket Ground and scored 309 runs in just 375 balls with 39 fours and 6 sixes.
This was the first test match of that series, where the captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and chose to bat first.
Virender Sehwag: Scored 228* On The First Day
Akash Chopra and Virender Sehwag Opened the Innings and adds up 160 runs in just 39.4 overs for the first wicket partnership. Later at the end of the first day, Sehwag and Tendulkar took India to 356 for 2 wickets with Sehwag unbeaten on 228 along with Sachin Tendulkar batting on 60*.
Completing 300 With A Six
Sehwag was one of the most fearless players in cricket history and he proved that again on the next day when he scored his triple century by hitting a six off Saqlain Mushtaq while he was batting on 295, but got out shortly after completing his triple century at the score of 309.

Date mein kya rakha hai?
March 29th, a very significant date in my cricketing life. Got to the first triple hundred against Pakistan in Multan on this date and got out on 319 against South Africa on this very date.
Coincidentally, without plan have a car which is numbered 2903. pic.twitter.com/tJ1rf3GPbw

Coincidently, on the same date in the year 2008, Sehwag scored his highest score of 319 in test cricket against South Africa at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
He thrashed South African bowlers at a fast pace and took the game away from them. South Africa was in the driving seat after the likes of Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Neil McKenzie, and Mark Boucher scored 159, 73, 94, and 70 respectively in the first innings and took their team to 540 runs but Sehwag didn’t allow them to take a breathe at least when he was on the ground. He scored a total of 319 runs in just 304 balls with 42 fours and 5 sixes and took the Indian team to 627 runs and made sure India don’t lose from there.
Sehwag’s Car Number Plate
Surprisingly, he also has a car with a number plate of 2903. Sehwag wrote in his Twitter post that this was also unplanned and was an interesting coincident that happened in his life on 29 March.
