During the India tour of England, England’s Ollie Robinson held the record for most wickets in Eng vs Ind Test series 2021-2022. In the 5 match Test series, after playing four matches, the last match was canceled due to some Covid cases in the Indian squad then later, the match was rescheduled to play this year in July. Top 5 Players with most wickets in Eng vs Ind Test series 2021-2022
1. Ollie Robinson – 21 Wickets
With 21 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 21.33 and an economy of 2.69, the 28-years-old Ollie Robinson holds the record for most wickets in Eng vs Ind Test series 2021-2022 so far. In 8 innings, he bowled 166.2 overs which is also the highest in the series. He also has bowled the second-highest (47) number of maiden overs in the series.
His best bowling figure in an innings of this unfinished series is 5/65 with 7/81 of the best bowling figure in a match. The pacer has already picked 2 fifers in 4 matches, one of which came in the very first match of the series where he bowled 26.5 overs and took 5/85, however, the match later resulted in a draw.
The next fifer he picked in the third match of the series where England won the match by an innings and 76 runs. His 5/65 in 26 overs helped England to dismiss India on 278 on day 4.
2. Jasprit Bumrah – 18 Wickets
India’s number one bowler in all formats is the second-highest wicket-taker in the series so far. Jasprit Bumrah has picked 18 wickets in just 7 innings with a 20.83 average which is the best by any bowler in the series. He also has the best bowling figure in a match, he took 9/110 in the very first match of the series played at Trent Bridge. In that match, Bumrah took 4/46 in the first innings in 20.4 overs helping India restrict England to 183 and his 5/64 in the second innings helped India dominate the match. He also helped India dismiss Joe Root at an individual score of 109. India scored 52/1 in the fourth inning while casing a 209 runs target and the match was later drawn due to the disturbance of the rain.
Bumrah bowled the highest 151 overs by an Indian bowler in those 4 matches including 40 maiden overs. He performed extremely well throughout the series and was one of the main players who played a big role in getting India a 2-1 lead.
3. James Anderson – 15 Wickets
One of the greatest fast bowlers of all time also has his contributions to the series. The 39-years-old James Anderson took 15 wickets in 8 innings and is right now the third bowler on the list for taking the most wickets in Eng vs Ind Test series 2021-2022. With bowling 163.3 overs (second-highest) in 4 matches, Anderson averaged 24.66 and was the most economical bowler of the series with an economy of 2.26.
He holds the record of bowling the most maiden overs in the series so far. With a tight line and length, he bowled 51 maiden overs which helped England restrict Indian batters from expressing themselves.

He picked his best bowling figure of 5/115 in a losing cause. While getting a fifer in the first innings of the second match, Anderson restricted India from making a huge total. He picked 5/62 after bowling 29 overs where he also bowled 7 maiden overs. But even after just conceding 53 runs in 25.3 overs, Anderson failed to grab even a wicket in the second innings. Though, he was the second most successful bowler in the series for England.
4. Mohammed Siraj – 14 Wickets
Mohammed Siraj was the second most successful bowler for India on the tour of England, last year. After debuting against Australia in December 2020 he has made an impact in the toughest format of the game.
Against England in August, he picked 14 wickets in just 7 innings at an average of 30.71 and with an economy of 3.39. After bowling 126.5 overs in 4 matches, Siraj bowled 22 maiden overs. He has the best bowling figure of 8/126 which came in the second match of the series where India won the match by runs. He picked 4/94 in the first innings while his 4/32 in the second innings helped India bundle England to just 120 runs and seize the match on the last day of the match.
5. Mohammed Shami – 11 Wickets
Mohammed Shami who was the highest wicket-taker as an Indian fast bowler in the previous World Test Championship also has his share in the Series. However, he missed the fourth match of the series but still makes it into the list for the bowlers with most wickets In Eng vs Ind Test series 2021-2022.
Shami bowled 96.5 overs in 5 innings and picked up 11 wickets with the best bowling figure of 4/95, averaging 27.54 and with an economy of 3.12.
His best came in his last presence of the series where he bowled 28 overs and including 8 maiden overs, he picked 4 wickets. He even bowled 19 maiden overs in 3 matches.
