IPL 2022, CSK vs GT: Chennai Super Kings becomes the first team in the history of Indian Premier League to not even hit a single boundary in the last five overs of their innings against Gujarat Titans in the 62nd match of the ongoing season.

While batting first after winning the toss against GT, CSK was going with an average run rate till the first fifteen overs of their innings scoring above 100 runs with just losing two wickets. But after the wicket of the high scorer of their team Ruturaj Gaikwad by Rashid Khan in the hands of Matthew Wade over deep mid-wicket, Chennai completely lost their momentum. N Jagadeesan was batting well when Gaikwad was on crease, but after that, he failed to take CSK to a good fighting total.

GT thrashed CSK’s batsmen badly

Gujarat Titans bowled really well against the likes of Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni. They completely restricted CSK within 20 runs in the last 4 overs after the wicket of Gaikwad on the last ball of the sixteenth over. CSK scored just 24 runs in their last five overs and just lost two wickets of Dube and Dhoni. N Jagadeesan scored 39 runs off 33 deliveries with 3 fours & a six and remained not out till the very last ball of the innings.
CSK against GT failed to hit even a single boundary in the last 5 overs

The downfall of Chennai started when Rashid Khan came to bowl the 15th over of the match, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and newcomer N Jagadeesan were batting well with a 44 runs partnership. Gaikwad & Jagadeesan were batting on 51 and 28 runs respectively.
On the very last ball of the third over of Rashid Khan, Gaikwad jumped and tried to hit the ball over the long-on but mistimed it completely and Australia’s wicketkeeper batter Matthew Wade caught the ball at the deep mid-wicket area.

After he departs Shivam Dube enters the ground but is unfortunately caught out behind the wicket without scoring a single run on the second ball of his innings by Wriddhiman Saha. Later Dhoni also got out at mid-wicket on the third ball of the last over. Dhoni scored just 7 runs off 10 balls.

Gujarat Titans: Bowlers stats

• Mohammed Shami once again bowled brilliantly and took two wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs.
• Captain Hardik Pandya also bowled two overs and just conceded 8 runs.
• After conceding 24 runs in his first two overs, Rashid Khan just gave 7 runs in his last two overs and also took the wicket of Gaikwad.
• West Indian bowler Alzarri Joseph also bowled brilliantly. He bowled 3 overs conceding 15 runs and took the wicket of Shivam Dube.
• Left-arm spinner Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore also took a wicket for 31 runs in his 4 overs for GT.

CSK vs GT (IPL 2022): Gujarat grabs 2 points with ease

After restricting CSK to just 133 runs in 20 overs, Gujarat opener Wriddhiman Saha plays a calculated inning of 67* off 57 deliveries including eight fours and a maximum. Their openers score 59 runs in the first seven overs and with the help of Shubhman Gill’s 18(17), Matthew Wade’s 20(15), and David Millers’ unbeaten 15(20) Gujarat easily beats Chennai by 7 wickets with 3 balls remaining.
Moen Ali with 11/1 in two overs and Matheesha Pathirana’s two wickets for 24 runs in 3.1 overs were the only successful bowlers for Chennai Super Kings against Gujarat.
