Hardik Pandya is like Junior version of Dhoni, says 2 times IPL champion

Gujarat Titans player Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore has recently opined about the captaincy of Hardik Pandya in the IPL 2022. He said that Hardik has the same mindset as MS Dhoni. When he was the part of Chennai Super Kings campaign in the IPL 2022, he noticed that MS Dhoni brings the best out of his players and puts his team before himself, and the same qualities were seen in Hardik Pandya when he was captaining GT in the IPL 2022 season.

Meanwhile, Sai Kishore who didn’t get any chance to play for CSK in the IPL 2021 was bought by GT in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He was added to the playing eleven in the 57th league match against Lucknow Super Giants where he performed really well and picked 2 wickets for just 7 runs in his two overs.

Gujarat defeated Lucknow by 62 runs and later, GT continued with Kishore to play the remaining matches of the season. Afterward, he picked a total of four more wickets in the next 4 games including 2/20 in the final against Rajasthan Royals and 1 wicket each in the Qualifier 1 & in the match number 62 against CSK.

The left-arm spinner of Gujarat Titans who was also part of the IPL 2021 winner Chennai Super Kings, shared his views on his current franchise captain Hardik Pandya and compared Pandya’s captainship skills with Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni.

Speaking to Times of India, Kishore said, “There are a lot of similarities between the two. Much like Dhoni, Hardik has the knack of getting the best out of his players. Both put the team before themselves and that’s what you expect from your leader.”

I would call Hardik the junior version of Dhoni,” he further added.

Kishore on his personal performance said, “It was a great season but I feel I can do better. I will want to continue improving my game in the coming months.”

He played 5 matches for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 and took 6 wickets at an average of 20.17 and an economy of 7.56 with the best bowling figure of 2/7.
