Dhoni has amazing reflexes like a Formula One driver: Former India trainer

The former Indian team trainer Ramji Srinivasan has praised MS Dhoni for his fitness and said that he is a one in a billion product just like Sachin Tendulkar.

Team India’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was one of the biggest reasons for India’s rise as one of the best cricket-playing nations in the world. India won the first-ever T20 World Cup hosted in South Africa in 2007 and also won the 2011 ODI World Cup under his captaincy.

Dhoni has always been known for his fast running between the wickets. To date, the 40-year-old Dhoni is regarded as one of the fittest cricketers, for which former Indian fitness trainer Srinivasan has lauded him and shared some memories while talking to the New Indian Express.

Dhoni is an enigma and is one in a billion product: Ramji Srinivasan on Dhoni fitness

Srinivasan admires Dhoni for his raw fitness and speed and said,

“MSD is an enigma and like Sachin Tendulkar, is one in a billion product. He does what suits him, be it strength work, agility, speed, or hybrid work. He has his protocols in place, which suits him. He has amazing reflexes like a Formula One driver and a mind like a 5-star General. Very few can match MSD fitness when they reach that age,” said Srinivasan.

“We were the only team where the players never missed a match due to any injuries. The players prepared one year ahead. They were all both mentally and physically prepared. I would say every player took individual responsibility to keep themselves fit and I, as a Strength & Conditioning (S&C) professional, never pushed them beyond their capacity,” he further added.

Ramji Srinivasan, who was also a part of the 2011 World Cup winning Indian team said that even a year before the tournament began, all the Indian players were mentally and physically ready. And wanted to win the tournament at any cost.
