Australia Thrashes Pakistan in First Odi

The first match of the three-match ODI series was played between hosts Pakistan and Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The visiting team Australia registered a strong victory in this match. The Kangaroo team defeated Pakistan by 88 runs in the first ODI and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Travis Head scored a century for the Australian team in this match, while Adam Zampa did wonders in the bowling. At the same time, the century of Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq went in vain. Travis Head was named player of the match for scoring a century and taking two wickets.

In this match, Pakistan team captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bowl first. Captain Azam’s decision proved to be bad when Australia’s team had put more than 300 runs on the scoreboard. Australia’s team scored 313 runs in the stipulated 50 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Travis Head scored 101 runs in 72 balls for the Kangaroo team, while Bane McDermott scored 55 runs. Cameron Green scored 40 runs and Marcus Stoinis, Marnus Labuschagne, and Aaron Finch scored 26, 25, and 23 respectively.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s team got off to a good start chasing the target of 314 runs. Even the opener Imam-ul-Haq scored 103 runs in 96 balls. Captain Babar Azam was dismissed for 57 but he faced 72 balls. Apart from these, no batsman of the Pakistan team could show amazing batting talent as they possess.

Pakistan’s team was bundled out for 225 runs in 45.2 overs and lost the match by 88 runs. Adam Zampa took 4 wickets for Australia, while Mitchell Swepson and Travis Head took 2-2 wickets. Moreover, the Australian side was not fully-fledged they were out of some key players like David Warner, Steven Smith, Mitchel Marsh, Starc, Josh Hazlewood, etc.
